Twins scoreless against Rangers

Scott Baker pitched decent until he the start of the 4th, where, when it was all said and done, he gave up a grand slam and a solo homerun, among other things, to give the Rangers an 8-0 lead. My gut feeling is that he’ll be sent down to AAA, again. It’s not right to send players around so often, like the Twins have done with both Baker and Boof Bonser. They did it earlier this year with Jason Kubel and Jason Bartlett, and now look at ’em. Read the rest of this entry »

Twins demolish Rangers 15-2

In news not related to yesterday’s game, Kyle Lohse was traded to the Reds, who has a GM that loves bad Twins players. The Reds are the team that accepted a Juan Castro trade earlier in the year. The player we got in return is a pitching prospect named Zach Ward, who has amazing numbers playing for the Dayton Dragons in Class A. 7-0, 2.29 ERA, 114 IP in 18 starts, allowing 74 hits, 29 ER, just TWO homeruns, while walking 37 and striking out 95. This was the only trade that was made before the deadline for the Twins, and it appears to be a good one. Read the rest of this entry »
