Two games in one post

The internet has been extremely bad with the heat wave (the reason for lack of and late posts recently), so this is the second time I’m typing this post as the first one did not save.

I won’t dwell on Saturday night’s loss too much, because there’s a lot to cover with the win today. Brad Radke pitched just 3 innings on Sat., giving up 7 hits and 4 runs. The announcers were talking about how Brad said he isn’t feeling 100% because of his shoulder problem. Well, I hope they can get that fixed because if we make it to the playoffs, and don’t get another good starter by tomorrow afternoon, he’ll have to start at least once per series and he’ll need to be effective. Twins drop first game in an important series

It was a pretty important game, but in the 10th inning it was Juan Rincon who gave up the winning run. He pitched 1 inning and gave up 3 hits and the run, and also struck out a guy. Read the rest of this entry »

Twins tied with White Sox, big series ahead.

I think I have accurate stats to the right of the site now, I’ll check with my advanced stats and with the counter later to see if it’s working properly. Also, I put in a search bar above that so you can search for a specific word if you want (if you’re searching for articles on a certain player, clicking their name under the Categories feature is probably easier). Twins for sure gain a game on the Sox. July 25th game.

Johan Santana went 7 innings with 7 hits, 3 runs (all earned), 0 walks and 6 strikeouts while Jose Contreras also went 7 innings and gave up 7 hits, but gave up 4 earned runs and walked 2 while striking out 5. Both pitchers gave up 2 homeruns. Read the rest of this entry »

Hello boys, I’m baaack. Twins win Tribe series, take opener from ChiSox.

Thanks to Independence Day for the quote.

While I was gone, the Twins went 8-1, sweeping the Indians, and the Devil Rays, and then winning the series Sunday night against the Indians again. Monday night saw the Twins gain a game on the White Sox, and this series could be a big momentum swinger, depending on how we do. Read the rest of this entry »

Twins tie…excuse me, Tyner ties the series at 1. July 14th game

Jason Tyner, yesterday’s late night replacement for the injured Lew Ford, was the MVP in everyone’s minds of tonight’s 3-2 win against the Cleveland Indians. Read the rest of this entry »

Twins drop July 13th series opener against Tribe

Nobody is perfect. Francisco Liriano proved that today, going just 5 innings (tying a season-low) and walking 3 as the Twins fell 4-6 against Cliff Lee and the Indians. Read the rest of this entry »

American League wins the All-Star game

Johan Santana pitched an inning, Joe Mauer played more than A.J. Pierzynski, and Michael Young took home the MVP award. Young‘s game winning 2-RBI triple got him a new Chevy truck.

Thanks to the all the readers of this blog, because when you type in “minnesota twins talk” into Google, my blog is the first website listed. My blog is also on the first page in the searches “twins talk”, “rondy white”, and “juan castro traded”. Read the rest of this entry »

Twins lose series to Rangers. July 9th game

Johan Santana had his second not-as-All-Star-worthy-as-Francisco-Liriano start in a row yesterday, Joe Mauer had his first 2-game string of not getting a hit since last September, and Mark Teixeira hit just his 9th home run of the year.

Two 2-run home runs in 2 straight innings will lose the game for you.

Justin Morneau continues his hitting streak, going 1-for-4 last night. His streak is up to 16 games.

Joe Mauer went 0-for-4, which he did twice in the Texas series, to drop his still MLB-leading average down to .378.

The All-Star break is now in effect, so I probably won’t write anything until the game is over, then you may see a recap.

Liriano gets the Twins back on track. July 8th game

Francisco “The Franchise/Phenom” Liriano pitched 7 scoreless innings, lowering his ERA to an incredible 1.83. The Twins also added another home run, albeit a solo one, from Torii Hunter. Read the rest of this entry »
